CANCER SURVIVER MONTH 2011
On October 15, 2011 the Physical and Mental Health Committee of the Henry County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recognized members that have survived cancer. The recognition ceremony was held during the monthly meeting.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Economic Development committee chaired by Soror Kimberly Underdue and Soror DeShawn Bullard collaborated with the Arts and Letter committee chaired by Soror Khaliah Davis with ‘Club 1913’, a book club discussion on March 5, 2011 featuring the book Girl, Get Your Money Straight: A Sister's Guide to Healing Your Bank Account and Funding Your Dreams in 7 Simple Steps by Glinda Bridgforth.
EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Henry County Alumnae Chapter’s (HCAC) Educational Development Committee chaired by Soror Shayla Harris was very busy this year with the Delta Academy and Delta GEMS programs. The girls in the two programs met at least once or twice a month for workshops and service projects.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH COMMITTEE
The Henry County Alumnae Chapter’s (HCAC) Physical and Mental Health Committee chaired by Soror Schnese Boddie, executed, “Let’s Get to Moving,” weight loss clinic, on September 20, 2011, at the Henry Medical Center. The event was the first of many to come to help Sorors and the Henry County communities get fit and healthy.
